DRX, LCK Team Succeeds in Reverse Sweep for the First Time in International Competition
DRX succeeded in reverse sweep at an international competition for the first time in the LCK team.
DragonX beat EDG 3-2 in the fourth round of the knockout stage of the 2022 League of Legends World Championship (hereinafter referred to as the LOL World Cup) at Madison Square Garden Hallou Theater in New York City on the 24th (Korea time).
DragonX, who advanced to the knockout stage after topping the group stage, faced defending champion EDG in the quarterfinals. DRX faced a crisis by giving up two sets first.
However, he won all three remaining sets and confirmed his advance to the semifinals. DRX came from behind to win a dramatic victory over EDG. It was the first LCK team to succeed in reverse sweep in international competitions.
In the meantime, LCK has never succeeded in reversing its sweep by winning all the remaining matches after losing two sets in international competitions.
Unfortunately, Samsung Galaxy failed to reverse the sweep with “loss wins and losses” in the final against SKT T1, KT with China’s LPL’s IG in 2018, and DK with “loss wins and losses” in the quarterfinals against Gen.G in 2022.
