Noh Kyung-eun was originally scheduled to undergo gallbladder removal surgery on January 31.
SSG, led by head coach Kim Won-hyung, departed for Florida on the morning of the 30th. SSG will hold its first camp in Florida until February 26 and move to Okinawa, Japan, from February 28 to March 8, to continue its second camp.
SSG will participate in the camp with a total of 62 players, including 17 coaching staff, and there has been a change in the list just before the camp starts. Noh Kyung-eun has been excluded.
The SSG club said, “Roh Kyung-eun recently felt pain and was diagnosed with swollen gallbladder as a result of conducting the test. On the 31st, he said he had a gallbladder removal surgery.
The return schedule was undecided. Noh Kyung-eun showed her willingness to return early by doing weight training until the day before the surgery, but no one could guarantee when her body would recover from the surgery.
It was like a bolt from the blue for Noh Kyung-eun, who is at the edge of a cliff every day.
But there is a variable again. It has been diagnosed that it is okay to postpone the operation.
MRI scans ahead of surgery concluded that the swelling of the gallbladder was not as big as expected. It has been diagnosed that it is not too late to perform surgery after retirement.
In other words, Noh Kyung-eun was given a chance to join the spring camp as soon as possible.
Of course, it is not yet a complete end result. As it is an important surgery, SSG plans to undergo a thorough examination at another hospital before deciding whether to operate.
If no major problems are found here, Noh Kyung-eun is expected to be able to join the spring camp.
Kim Won-hyung, head coach of SSG, said, “(No) Kyung-eun is a pitcher who always builds up his body well before the season, and I’m worried. He felt sorry for himself. He showed his willingness to recover as much as possible and join the camp. “It bothers me, but it’s not a big disease, so I’ll look forward to a quick recovery,” he said.
With a relatively large gap on the mound, each pitcher is bound to be precious. The increased possibility of Noh Kyung-eun joining early is a great boon for SSG.
