Takeoff, shot dead…Police said, “The murderer is still on the run.”
Rapper Takeoff of hip-hop group Migos was killed in the shooting.
Local media, including Variety and TMZ, reported the death of Takeoff on the 1st (local time). He was 28 years old.
TMZ posted a video online of the aftermath of the shooting. The video showed fellow Migos member Quobo trying to take care of Takeoff’s body, which seems to be covered in blood on the floor.
The take-off was shot to death, according to police. The killer is still on the run, and police have earnestly asked the public for clues or information that could help the investigation.
Houston police held a press conference and said, “We are currently looking for any information,” adding, “We know that the media has received a lot of phone calls, text messages, tweets, and videos.” If all of you were not such things, please send them so that we can solve this case.”
In addition, “We want to find justice for the bereaved family. Help us arrest and prosecute the person responsible for the take-off’s death.What if this was your brother? What if this was your son? Please come forward,” he added.
Police suspect at least two firearms were used and the suspect was among those attending a private party in 810 Billiards & Bowling Houston on Monday night. It also confirmed that there was a disagreement behind the fatal shooting. The reason for the dispute is not clear.
It is also known that two injured people in their 20s visited a local hospital on their own.
Takeoff began rapping with Quabo and his cousin Offset in 2008. In 2011, the company changed its name to Migos and released its first mixtape, “Juug Season”. The song “Bad and Boujee” received a lot of love, topping the Billboard chart in 2017.
In recent years, Offset has been a soloist, while Takeoff and Quobo have been duo. The two released their duo album ‘Built for Infinity Links’ last month. “Migos is one of the most successful hip-hop groups in recent years,” Variety said.
