Yang Eui-ji, FA compensator, will write a new myth?
Jeon Chang-min (pitcher), who moved to NC as an FA compensator for Yang Eui-ji (Doosan), said, “I was a little surprised at first because it was unexpected, but it would be a good opportunity because you looked at me well.”
NC nominated Jeon Chang-min as a compensation player for Yang Eui-ji (catcher), who transferred to Doosan after obtaining his second FA qualification on the 30th. Jeon Chang-min, a right-handed orthodox who joined Doosan in 2019 as the ninth-ranked player in the second round of the first round after graduating from Bucheon High School, played in 24 Futures League games and recorded 3 wins, 3 losses, and a 4.53 ERA.
He made his first appearance in the first division this season and recorded a 19.29 ERA in nine games without winning or losing. Jeon Chang-min will join the team in time for the spring camp schedule in February next year.
Jeon Chang-min, who spoke on the phone on the afternoon of the 30th, said, “I was a little surprised at first because it was unexpected, but it would be a good opportunity because you looked at me well,” adding, “I will never forget how grateful Doosan fans were.”
What would NC look like when Jeon Chang-min looked at it from the outside? He met NC twice this season. He gave up three runs (one hit and two walks) without catching a single out count in the first match on September 7, but he neatly erased one inning in his second appearance on September 21.
Jeon Chang-min said, “I faced NC twice this season. “I think it’s a good team that also won,” he said. He is close to NC Cho Min-seok, Kim Jae-kyun, and Kim Joon-sang, so there will be no problem in adapting to the team.
Looking back on his debut season in the first division, Jeon Chang-min said, “I’m very disappointed. “I’m sorry I couldn’t do well, but I think I’ll be able to prepare more desperately next year (with the opportunity of NC transfer).”
NC general manager Lim Sun-nam said, “Jeon Chang-min is a young and talented pitcher who can both start and bullpen based on his flexible pitching form. Although he was young, he completed his military service and found that he had a good sense of play and recovery speed after being discharged from the military. “If Jeon Chang-min’s talent and growth potential bloom, I expect it to be a great help to our team,” he said.
